Well its not about making less money, My comapny is about to close so soon I will be making no money at all.. So the reason its now or never to work in BH is becuase they are offering me a job right now. I was fianlly proactive in getting the job of my dreams so if I say no thanks now I will not get this oppertunity again as they will think I am not serious about it.

Stay where you are. You are talking about your friend communting from Yorba Linda to Hollywood. That is 40 miles. I don't know how you can extrapolate that and say that since they could do an OC to LA commute, you should be able to do a Bakers to LA commute. It is almost 3 times the distance.

Why don't you give it a try for a week or two right now? See if you can handle it.

You're getting married, both work and can't afford $1200 a month in rent? Something seems off. The 20s are better suited to this kind of handwringing, but you're 30. Living at home and commuting 110 miles each way through the Valley was the best solution you could think of?

girl that is crazy you will be worn out from driving in no time.the time spent in the car alone adds up to a full day a week of your life.I would stay in the Oc if I were you or find a friend or two and get a place somewhere like ventura county.Bakersfield would be awful drive.

Not to keep piling on but my SO and I are both freaking PhD students living on basically minimum wage and we quite comfortably manage to pay rent (1050 for 1BR) and car payment (500). Unless you are supporting like 10 other siblings or something I think it is ridiculous that you and your SO who supposedly holds down a full time job cannot even afford the 1200 tops rent to be able to live reasonably close to your dream job.

The best option is to find some place in LA. Yeah, I know you really don't want to live in the city, but that's where the opportunities are. At least the city you'll be living in is LA, which is semi-suburban; if you think LA is confined and crowded, try San Francisco or New York. You have to decide which is more important to you: the job of your dreams or wide open spaces. Given your position right now, I don't think you can have both.

Yeah something hear doesn't add up. I'm guessing huge car or student loan payments? By huge they have to be over 1000 to not be able to afford at least something here between the 2 of you.
