I miss the wonderful little camps that Rita wiped out. Does anyone know if Constance Beach, Little Florida, or any of the other beachfront properties still exist and can be rented? I have stayed in a FEMA trailer the last two times I was at Holly Beach and just don't know if I can do that again.

Holly beach, before it was all but wiped off the face of the earth by Ike/Rita, was one of the most unique family resort areas in the whole country. Just plain ordinary folks, not the crowded bs you see in fla withrows of condos, built by lowest bid contractors. Most of the camps were built by family's one board at a time over generations. There were maybe 3 or 4 hundred there before the storm, with one store and a dinner, a few rv camp sites and that's it. People mainly surfed fished & rode there 4 wheelers up & down the beach. Oh yea, people also partied like only Louisianian's know how to do. From reading your post I'd say you may need to go to Panama city for vacation, cause I believe you just don't get it. Nuthen wrong with that, Disney World still has plenty rooms. LMFAO

I thought that Holly Beach, pre-Rita was a very interesting place. It was quiet, had few crowds and it was a family place. When we would stay in Sulphur, we would head down to the beach at dawn and walk for a couple of hours.

Did they rebuild the boardwalk around Hackberry, LA yet?

Default Renting at Holly Beach

I need help.
I'm interested in renting a cabin at holly beach next month. Or even near Johnson Bayou (totally a second choice). Can anyone help me with any kind of information? People, telephone numbers?
I'd really appreciate it. Haven't been there before i was a teenager, and, i really miss it. I'd love to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean again.
You can post here or email me. My address is fatcatrocks@yahoo.com.
Thanks!

Not sure if this helps, but seems the offerings are limited.

If they can't help you, they might be able to point you to someone who can.

I know some folks who built camps out there post disaster.

Well, they call it a camp anyway. Those "camps" are nicer than the house I grew up in.
