I have been looking, mostly online for a home in the Louisville area. Schools are a great concern. I am in the $275 to $385,000 price range. I am interested in Oldham County area but I have to commute to southern Indiana. I looked at several homes in Moser Farms but was not impressed. I also looked in Craigs Creek ( homes too close together), same for Copper Creek. Worthington Place, homes all look the same. Glen Oaks and Hillcrest are out of our price range but very pretty.
So are there any newer subdivisions in the Oldham County, or Jefferson County(we heard the reside school would be Ballard)? We are looking at Rock Springs right now but the lots are just a tad on the small side. We need at least a third to be comfortable.
Any help would be great.

Ballard is a very good public school. School system in Oldham County is excellent.

With that price range, you should have no trouble at all finding something you want, although it's certainly going to take some trips in person.

Try Persimmon Ridge in Shelby County, or look in the Prospect area. Commuting to So Indiana is going to be a real hassle, however.

Do not rule out S. Indiana, specifically Floyds Knobs or Charlestown Road in New Albany. Not a bad area at all...check it out

The commute will be a concern from Oldham Co...although the schools are wonderful and properties appreciate out in that area at high rates. Have you looked at Abbott Grove, Briar Hill, Heritage Place, Kentucky Place all in Crestwood( which is a much faster commute than Lagrange or some other Oldham County towns) Possibly look into Polo Fields as well if you are wanting Jefferson County. Most of the homes in these neighborhoods are fairly new and in your price range. I would advise if you are not already to consider contacting a Realtor to assist in your needs. As a buyer, a Realtor can provide guidance, research properties, schedual showings and work beside you throughout the entire home buying process at no cost to you as all commissions are paid by the seller.
