I'm not saying this isn't good for Macon. However, you can drive from Atlanta to Orlando with a full tank of gas for $44.90.

The Orlando piece is the good part of this. True, it is cheaper to drive to Orlando, but it is a 5+ hour trip any way you slice it. I know many now who drive to Atlanta to fly to Orlando...this would be much easier. The trips to Atlanta still wont work though.

I dont know if there is enough demand, but at least there is a chance of success for this airline with this plan but it is still ridiculously expensive as far as wasting our tax dollars is concerned.

I think the big thing to take out this is people traveling to the region on business can now connect through these two cities to get to Macon. It isn't necessarily just for people ending up in those two places.

Truthfully in the end I think subsidies are better spent on a rail line that goes straight to Atlanta with a direct stop at Hartsfield along the way.

Amen to the rail portion. I travel by train all over the northeast and rail isnt perfect or cheap but it would be a better use of resources than these subsidies.

Default don't think its going to work

A couple of years back Vision Airlines came to macon offering flights to Macon, GA and Destin, FL it didn't last for 3 months. The company even hired and trained employees, the planes didn't even make it off the ground.
So I want hold my breath until show and tell

As someone mentioned earlier, rail service to Atlanta would fare MUCH better considering the short distance.
