I've always said "what a hoot" meaning funny. Nothing whatsoever to do with "Hooters" restaurant. Guess lots of us are goofy

Speaking of goofy.............I scared DH on his graduation night Friday. I had spent the whole day running with him, getting ready, buying new stockings for the girls, etc. I was tired, a little stressed, had listened to him practice his speech 42 times........I needed a drink!

So I drank....and drank another glass......and 3 LARGE glasses of merlot down while I was doing my hair and make-up.....stood up, leaned back a little and realized.......oops, I hadn't eaten all afternoon either. I started giggling, and he started sweating. He was so worried I was going to embarrass him at his function. He's easily embarrassed! He kept asking me on the way if I was ok to walk in my high heels. Then he wanted to know if I was going to burst into giggles during his speech.

It's been quite a while since I had so much wine I was giggly, but it was fun! I did have a little trouble with the heels the first little bit. I drank TWO large cups of very good coffee as soon as we got there, and I was fine. Stayed sitting as much as possible and felt the color slowly leaving my face the longer we were in the room. By the time he got up to give his marvelous speech and I had to walk across the room to take pictures, I was fine.

Now THAT was a HOOT of DD proportions!!

Okay, even though I'm farther away from Eastport, can I still come and join in on the fun? I gotta play too!!! I could bring the errr... male stripper? if I can get Forest in the van under other pretenses.

You know I'll be there... I DO have a bonnet for every occasion. and a bit of experience dancing and drumming by/around a fire too. I have been known to leap one now and again... but my leaping days may well be behind me now.

There may have been a time, when I was young / foolish and in better shape, when someone might have enjoyed such a sight. However such days are behind us.

Falling snow, firelight, three fondue pots: herbed oil in one, cheese sauce in the second, and chocolate in the third, wine, a jacuzzi, and you ladies. Now that sounds to me like a much better combination.
