I meant high relative to many other Maine counties.

For example, Washington County is given a property crime rate of 2 and a violent crime rate of 2, while Waldo County has 1 in both categories, which gives Waldo half the crime rate of Washington County, and also means Waldo County has the lowest crime rate of all Maine coastal counties, according toModerator cut: link removed, linking to competitors sites is not allowed

Ohhhh, I'll take the bait. Sperling?? The site that has crime figures on a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high) and shows Washington as a 2 is high in your opinion? I don't see that as being high. Sure, we have problems but not as bad as you think.

The same website that say under counties says "Cumberland, York...16 others"? Seems as if, IMHO, you need to get your head out of the stats.

You should have seen the shoot out here two weeks ago. It was wild.

Friggin squirrels in the bird feeders.

There's a difference between book knowledge and personal experience. It's called "reality."

Maybe if you're really concerned "Crime in WACO" could be it's own thread, and then we'll tell you what *really* goes on.

Good grief! I thought everybody knew that there are lies, damn lies, and statistics. If county A has one Crime and County B has two crimes, statistics will tell you that County B has a crime rate that is twice as bad as County A, even though both may be in the bottom percentile, where anything below 28 is considered good.

WaCo is one of the safest places a person can be.

It's Molly's fault we're a 2. It was a 1 until she got caught in this:

Tinbender, it had to have been the "streaking" reports from last years' Valentine Speedo and Bikini run in Eastport that caused a spike in the stats. Some people have no sense of humor!
Outdoornut, if this is the best you can do, go back to bed.

I didn't get any pictures. Too dang cold out for me. Winter is hibernate by the radiator time.

But no guns in November, only bows. No firearm discharging on the island.

2 is twice the crime rate of Waldo County.

I'd call twice as high, high.
