It's not a stupid distraction,it just goes to show her integrity and how much of a hypocrite she really is. Professor Warren earned over $500,000 one year at Harvard yet her campaign ad bemoans the fact that college students are burdened with heavy loans.Maybe the over-inflated tuition is to pay for the over-inflated professor salary.Yet,does candidate Warren propose lowering salaries to help students? Of course not, she's a Democrat...spend,spend,spend....

Warren is teaching only one class, contract law, twice a week this fall. Records show she was paid $350,000, plus $182,000 in royalties and consulting fees, before she took leave a year ago to establish the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on behalf of the Obama administration.

etc., etc., etc... It's politics and politics are dirty. All I care about is what's coming out of their mouths today. I like what I hear Elizabeth saying and I believe, if elected to the senate, she'll take on the banking industry. Brown's recent support of the Blunt bill, however, makes me want to throw up.
Thanks, we already had Barney Frank take on the financial industry and all he did was damage it more, and the big banks are bigger now then they ever were before.

I'm not a big bank supporter in any way, if we really wanted to do something serious we would end or audit the Federal Reserve.

Other than that, I don't need a socialist in Congress...we already have enough idiotic people there.

That would make sense but I don't think we'd hear that from Warren.

that consumer protection board she brags about being a part of is housed in the federal reserve and is funded by them. The reserve is controlled by the major banks so basically this was a way for them to have a power grab. It is exempt from FOIA and the sunshine laws.

She hasn't said anything about ending the war on drugs or ending the war on terrorism. Infact she is probably more hawkish on iran than Brown is

I'm not saying Brown is perfect but at least he has spent time in the legislative branch of government and served in the federal government (national guard). Politics aside if you don't have experience then don't run for office. I don't see how being a Harvard professor means someone is qualified to run for an office that high so fast. If she had experience being a mayor of a small town or a selectman or running some type of non profit that would help b

Warrens arguments are circular. She oversaw TARP and when TARP passed it was said that it MUST pass or else unemployment would go up to 8%. We passed it and it STILL went up to 8% and even higher. Meanwhile there is hypocritical with lending. Banks were bailed out under the idea that they would lend again but they were also told to not invest in the same risky assets. So they totally curbed lending because they are afraid of taking a risk.

Anyone running with a connection to business or finance (this goes for Warren and Romney and anyone else) runs a huge risk if they do not state exactly what their policies have done.

You've introduced a false dichotomy--discussion of this issue is not done at the exclusion of all others. Claiming that this thread should be stopped simply because there are more important things to discuss is admitting you can't think of something to rebut the argument at hand.

A more cogent argument would be that, although this is a blemish on Prof. Warren's record, it's a minor one and less important than her stances on a number of issues which are more important to you.

Regardless of her supposed ancestry, she does not connect with blue-collar people. She comes off as an elite, disconnected ivy league professor...which is exactly what she is. She is a poser and a carpetbagger too. I am an indy leaning to Scott Brown.

Warren may not be perfect (who is?) or part Cherokee (WHO CARES???!) but she's not a shil of the upper-class twit, Republican Party like Scott Brown, intent on gutting all services for the elderly, poor, children and health! That's good enough for me.

I am sure the union workers can relate to a woman who lives in a multimillion dollar home, gets zero interest loans from Harvard and makes well over $200,000/year to teach a class. Not to mention all the other income she has for doing various side jobs.

It should be an interesting race.

I don't see how you can consider Scott Brown a shill of the Republican party. So far, his voting record is indicative of his willingness to be bi-partisan. He is not an extremist Conservative. Not all Republicans are bad news.

Otherwise, in this economy and with our federal deficit at an all time high, it's time for citizens to become more self sufficient. Families need to pull together to help the elders in their families and the poor. And stop having children they can't afford to raise. And parents need to take a more active part in the schooling of their children. Take them to the public libraries. Help them to understand and do their homework. And tell their kids to start respecting their teachers.

And with healthcare, it's time to work on living a healthier lifestyle. Our government can't do everything for us... WE can't afford it that way.

I read the two income trap.. it was a good book and made some good points.

I am however, petrified that Author of the book is running for political office.
