Looks like Dartmouth is going to be too far away from work for him. Any other suggestions? We checked out Bridgewater, which looks nice. Any realtors or anyone else on here with connections for rentals? We would need a 2 bedroom hopefully 2 bathroom or 1.5 bathroom for 1500 or less. Thanks!!

Be careful of Bridgewater.......Lots of college kids.....and wanna be hood rats. If you don't want the West Side of Brockton I'd go to Easton! Nice town!

Check out Brockton.........trust me you'll be surprised!
An award winning high school that offers free daycare for its teen moms. I'm not even making that up.

And they voted for a casino to be built across the street from the award winning high school!

I literally don't understand anyone on this thread. Why are we recommending Dartmouth, Plymouth, Sharon. First of all as a few people have mentioned there are nice, suburban neighborhoods in Brockton that are very safe. Second there are plenty of towns surrounding Brockton that are affordable, safe, and would prevent a long or convoluted commute. Whitman, Abington, Holbrook, Avon, East & West Bridgewater, and Stoughton, which is really not bad at all.

I agree with you, except I disagree about recommending Brockton itself. Are there ok neighborhoods in Brockton? Perhaps. Just remember they are all in close proximity to the bad parts of Brockton which make up the majority of the city, and you're relying on the overworked and understaffed Brockton PD to keep those neighborhoods safe. Pretty much all the surrounding towns are a better bet than Brockton itself.
