Again, we're sort of unfamiliar with commute time between MA and RI, and commute time in general.
Getting from Sharon to Providence every morning is way easier than getting from Sharon to Brighton. That's not even a question.

And if the goal is to be close to family in Sharon, Providence and Waltham are about equidistant, although it's a much shorter trip time-wise from Providence.

First you only have one young child is there an age limit on the school also Boston get snow not always as last winter.

Will you work or stay home since you will be having another child. As a poster said it is better to be close to school.

West Roxbury is nice but yards are tiny also. Also since your first child is so young would another school work. Natick another poster did mention which will give you more land so check that out.

Waltham is also home to Gann Academy and Brandeis University which you may want to take advantage of should you land there.

There's also Solomon Schecter in Newton and The Rashi School in Dedham.

Thanks for all the school suggestions. Checking them out right now. Right now, Natick seems like our best option. How would Norwood work for our situation?

Norwood gives you a modest improvement in commute time over Canton which gives you a modest improvement over Sharon. The Jewish presence in Norwood is negligible; Natick is slightly more Jewish.

What is your primary consideration at this point? Budget or proximity to Sharon?

Norwood and Dedham may work well for you. Close to Sharon, prices are lower because the schools don't have the best reputations (though I have friends in both towns that are happy with the schools). Commute to Brighton could be done via the various parkways rather than 128, which I've always found preferable.

A Natick to Brighton commute (and then you or your husband getting to your job) sounds like a terrible idea if you ask me.

I don't have a wide amount of expertise, but I've heard much better things about the other schools mentioned vs. The Rashi School.

The Rashi school is associated with the Reform movement. The ideology is significantly different enough that I don't think it's the best choice unless you lean Reform to begin with.
