And I actually know a few people who do that exact commute but opposite direction into Waltham, with traffic. They survive, and don't even seem to mind.

I live in Hudson and make the reverse commute quite frequently and it sucks!

Just because something isn't as painful as a root canal, doesn't mean one should engage in the behavior on a daily basis.

OP now knows there are two thought camps on the Waltham-Hudson commute:
those who chose not to participate in a dumb***** commute and those who would chose such a commute because pain is fun!

Hudson (home) to Waltham (work) in the morning is not a reverse commute or am I missing something?

Folks are suggesting Waltham and rt 117 as a commute for a 23 yo.

Yeah, good point. Anywhere into Waltham is not a reverse commute by any definition unless he's in reverse gear.
