Hi, fiancée and I are heading to Truro early July. Friends are staying in PTown, but was cheaper staying outside of PTown for us. We're going to be right on RT 6 between Atwood Rd and Long Nook Rd.

Question is how to get to PTown. Parking can be expensive and crowded in PTown from what I hear. Someone mentioned a shuttle, but reading the site it doesn't stop on RT 6 anymore. Is that true?

Appreciate any feedback.

Also what's the best beach to check out in the area?

Thanks

RunD1987, I live in Wellfleet. There is a Flex Bus system that runs along 6A and will take you back and forth (for a buck a ride if I understand the fee structure) from Truro to P'Town. Here's the link to the service. You can bring your bicycle on the bus (attaches to the outside).

Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority - Flex

If you're staying in Truro, you can get a beach sticker and go to the Truro town beaches. We've always loved Longnook Beach itself, which you'll be very close to. However, in recent years Coast Guard Beach (a few miles north) has been better because of a low tide channel that forms.

Parking in Ptown: You can park at the Pilgrim monument all day and get a pass to go up the monument if you don't mind the walk to town. I can't remember how much it is to park there.
Another deal is a large parking lot next to a store called "Rileys". It is in the shadow of the monument. It is all day for $20 and is just a block outside the main drag. Parking at Mcmillan is hourly and can add up quick if you will be there several hours.
There are beaches everywhere so choosing the best one is up to you and you needs. Pretty much all of them have an entrance fee in season. I like beaches in the bay since the water is a bit warmer and fewer sharks.

I usually park in the public lot in Ptown for $2.25/hr. It is located at Prince St. and Bradford. You can walk down Masonic Pl and be right in the middle of Commercial st.

+1

That's the Grace Hall lot. Any of the big lots on this side of Bradford are $2.25/hr which isn't bad. Way cheaper than downtown Boston Just don't park by the Pier because it's expensive.

I always just toss my old mountain bike in the back of the car. There's plenty of parking, just not in the center of things.
