From the design center, 25 minutes. 5 minutes from design center to Fort Point Channel, then 20 minutes along Atlantic ave (+/-, almost never less, but sometimes traffic could be worse).

The new Chelsea commuter rail station will be next door to the Silver Line terminus.

For what it's worth, Natick has two stations that, although the parking lot fills, there are plenty of homes that can put you within walking distance to the stations, and prices are comparable to Acton.

I guess I forgot to write it but I was parking in the Grafton lot on the Worcester Line not the actually in Worcester which has a garage. Its just an outdoor surface lot, I don't think I've ever seen camera's there.

Grafton uses the Pay By Phone app and at some point after the morning commute, someone from the lot management company comes by with a digital plate reader that checks against everyone who paid. No payment, you get a bill in the mail with the fine which is $0.50.

Come later than they do, then you won't get fined.

It's about 33% of the time
This spring there was no additional fine, just the $4 parking fee.

Thanks all. So if I live on the Newburyport line, it seems like it's almost certainly faster to get off in Chelsea and take the Silver Line. Not too much info online on how long that would take but I imagine around 20 mins...

Usually there is a box near the station where you enter the space number and pay, but phone apps are rapidly expanding.

I have a friend that commutes in to the Seaport from Harvard on the Fitchburg commuter train line (Littleton/495 Station). He gets off at Porter Sq in the morning and takes the Red Line subway to South Station. He however chooses not to this for the reverse as there are no open seats once the outbound train gets to Porter Sq. He walks each day from the Seaport to North Station and gets the train home there (unless there is bad weather).

They've taken all the boxes out on the Worcester line
