If only these people spent as much time investing in their human capital as they did in researching crypto and meme stocks.

I know of a guy in his 30's that posts daily updates and by my math his entire portfolio is worth about $20k. Always between jobs...

I guess some people have given up on themselves and their ability to secure a good job. I mean look at the cost of college. If someone hasn't gone to college and has no money to get there I can see why they think the stock market could help them.

Everyone I know that dabbles in such things, or in day trading, have made enough money that they can afford to have money to play with. They have been quite financially successful. They wouldn't have money to risk otherwise. For them its a game, much akin to people that go to casinos, or bet on football, or fantasy sports. Again, not my thing at all, but whatever.

Seeing fairly slow sales in parts of Metrowest like Sherborn. Having looked at the properties for sale though, they're not super appealing houses. The nice ones seem to go fairly quickly. So it seems that there are areas that are buyer's markets inside of 495.

Day trading can be fine for some but keep in mind it's going to make your taxes much harder to file. Think of every little gain and loss over that period of time. Yes capital gains is obviously much larger but this makes it much harder. Buy and hold is the best to let dividends compound.

Friends of mine had another disappointing weekend. Looked at a house priced at $775 in Georgetown. Offered $850K waiving inspection. Just found out there are two cash offers for over $900K.

House in my neighborhood was listed a while back needing a lot of cosmetic work updating it from 1980's kitchen and wallpaper. It was move-in ready. Listed for $600k. Sold for $740K. My jaw dropped on that one.

It's getting rather depressing out there.

I was shocked by sale prices but the building that is happening around us is mind boggling.

it has to come down. The housing stock in MA is atrocious (Literally, few impress me anymore...)

They cannot stay this high.

I dont know that it will come down since there is a demand to live in this area and plenty of people with money...but I cant understand how it could keep going up unless everyone in the world keeps wanting to live here.
