Meh. I’ve long thought that the way to solve this is to make it a felony with mandatory jail time to knowingly hire an illegal. Like the rest of us, I’ve had to fill out an I-9 form for any job I’ve started since the 1980s. My employer knows if I’m legal. This is rich people exploiting cheap labor and that’s why we have never adopted rational immigration policies. It’s more profitable to pay an illegal cash under the table than to hire a US citizen at fair wages and pay payroll taxes, unemployment insurance, workman’s comp, and benefits. We made slavery illegal and this replaced it.
We need cheap labor to do all the tasks American workers refuse to do but the immigrants need visas, identification, and the basic protections the rest of us have.
This used to be the case but nowadays everybody is coached to ask jefe for asylum which, if granted, comes with all sorts of very expensive taxpayer-provided goodies.

As far as religion in public schools.....The Left takes it too far.....the children can't say Merry Christmas and have a party?! Who are you hurting? Maybe you don't agree, but God is part of everything we do, always has been. "In God we trust"? It always will be. Do I feel we should be preaching the Bible in public schools...no.
