iPhone app says the weekend storm will bring us 13" snow. NBC Boston weatherman says 6~8".
Either way, it will be the biggest storm of this season. We are in northern suburbs.

Unless you are way up there, the temperature forecast is at or above 32. At least by daybreak. So there's a good chance it ends up like Monday.

For my area, Friday night through Saturday:

• 6" - 11" - Weather.com
• 4" - 9" - Weather.gov
• 1" - 3" - WHDH
• 2" - 4" - WCVB
• 2" - 4" - WBZ

lol...

This is a pretty crazy forecast -- we'll get between 1 and 12 inches of snow. I have tickets to Hamilton tonight, so all I really care about is that it doesn't start (or at least isn't bad) for our trip home after the show. We are lucky, I guess, that we don't have any other plans this weekend. If it starts at midnight, I don't care too much about how much we get.

I think the ones saying a lot haven't updated their predictions yet. OTOH it is right on the edge to the point where a degree or two will make a big difference in the amount of snow versus rain.

Yes, storms are complex, dynamic systems and the effects can be very local... so it's always complicated, but this one is bringing a good deal of precipitation, and with the temperatures right around freezing, and changing over time, it doesn't take a lot for one to get either nearly all snow, or nearly all rain... according to NECN, Newburyport is right on the boundary between the 4-6in zone and 6-8in zone, so the best estimate is about 6 inches for us. I'll have the snowblower ready for tomorrow morning if needed.

Based upon my time outside today, tomorrow will be a disaster on untreated roads until above freezing. Water and slush everywhere.

We got roughly 4-inches of dense slushy mush in Newburyport. I cleaned it up at the end of the afternoon, before it hardens into an icy glacier when the sun goes down.

We were in Boston on Sunday. Drove Mass & Cass to the garage at the Christian Science Plaza. It was sunny, 45F, and no sign of snow.

We had a good amount this last storm, but it's all melting pretty fast now.
