Of course nobody is going to be "thrilled" about it, but some are stuck here whether they like or not. And a townhouse/condo you'd think would be preferable to renting or living with one's parents, for many.

This one doesn't seem worth 9.4M to me:

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/3...57173965_zpid/

Nor this one 5.2M:

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/7...57529843_zpid/

All about the water I guess.

The first one, the owner(or their painter) is good at picking paint colors to bring new life into all the old wood paneling on the walls that would otherwise make that house look much more dated. However, I agree that it def doesn't seem worthy of a $9.4M price tag...even though it is waterfront property.

Yeah both are desirable homes for sure but almost 10M and 5M+ is just wow. We all know the pictures are most likely more impressive than reality as well.

If I was spending that kind of money, I'd be looking out my window and seeing Central Park...not Duxbury Bay.

I need someone to explain why this one went $351k over asking: https://www.redfin.com/MA/Reading/20...7/home/8702068

Sold the same day and in the same town, this went $26k over, and the sale price makes sense for the square footage, location, age of the house: https://www.redfin.com/MA/Reading/45...7/home/8697271

2 totally different style homes....the ranch is more desirable and likely went over b/c folks who want to age in place won't have to climb stairs. It will be cheaper for them to stay there vs getting robbed by a long term care/nursing facility in old age. Still, an outrageous price to pay for a ranch in Reading though!

Hard to believe people are paying those prices in Reading.
