I recently moved to Collierville on a work engagement. So far, I liked the town and people

I'm commuting to work with a co-worker on carpool as I don't have a car. I need to travel for every 2 weeks to my hometown in NJ. I don't see any public transport available from Collierville to Memphis Airport.

Is there any kind of transport available from Collierville to Memphis Airport? [Of course, other than cab service]

Please advice.

Thanks

I would assume that the Memphis Airport would have a shuttle service of some kind.

Hopefully (901) is right. Because, it would be an unmitigated heck of the highest order to take MATA from Collierville to the airport. MATA does not run on a grid system so I shudder to think of how many hours and buses it would take for one to go from Collierville to the Airport.

I only deal with the Arkansas Airport, personally. They are darling over there.

I'm astonished that someone can live in Collierville without a car!

I work about 1 mile from the airport and live in Collierville too. Your best bet is posting up to car pool with people. I tried car pooling with co-workers years ago, never seemed to work out.

Do you all realize that MATA is funded completely by the City of Memphis and federal funds. The County and suburban cities contibute 0 to MATA's operating budget. This is why you will see hardly any bus service in Collierville or any other subutban city.

I know that Bartlett has some kind of public buses running through it ever so often. They have the Wolfchase route and then they have another route which is Raleigh/Bartlett

It's a shame there is not any modernized system of public transport for all of Shelby County, though.

I know of no options other than car or cab. I was stuck at the airport once and taxi was the only way I could get home about $60 one way.

I understand that the Memphis Airport has a light rail station beneath it. It was included when the airport was built. However the rail system was never developed unfortunately.
