my daughter is half mexican from her dad and 1/4 native american from me and she has golden light skin golden brown hair and blue eyes. her father looked the same way.
The definition of mestizo is mixed European and Amerindian ancestry. And Mexicans have lost indigenous features-what? Here in the U.S., I see Mexican-Americans everyday, and, since you brought it up, I can tell you that they have not lost any of these "features". Again, it seems like you want the indigenous aspect of Mexico gone and make it some sort of New Spain. That just isn't the truth and will not happen and it would be a travesty if unique indigenous cultures were lost.
Most of the more recent Mexican immigrants in L.A. come from heavily indigenous Southern Mexico.
Now, if you went back before 1980, most of the Mexican immigrants were from the whiter north, and many of those who came in the '80s and early '90s came from the center as well as the north. The change had to do with the Chiapas violence and so many indigenous peasants being thrown off their land due to NAFTA. One scarcely hears the northern Mexican accent in L.A. anymore, while in the '60s and '70s it was omnipresent.
In Texas the Mexican immigrants still are mostly northern or central Mexican.
Some of those white Mexicans are mestizos, but Mexico unlike the US never bought into the "one drop" insanity, and as you look, so as you are. For example if Derek Jeter or Halle Berry had been Mexican instead of American, they would be considered white. Likewise even the distinction between mestizo and indigena is a fine line - if you speak an indigenous language and practice indigenous customs, you're indigenous.
Interestingly, Afro-Mexicans - the group that's treated worse than any other group in Mexico - don't seem to come to the US in any great number.
Yes, an article from the American media and it's bias towards Mexico, until you haven't gone to Mexico and experienced Mexico you can't have an opinion of it.

It's interesting that the people who have the most negative opinion of Mexico are Mexicans (who don't know what they have because they were born with it) and Americans that live in their bubble. But other countries find Mexico amazing!!

Interesting, and very unknown to many people. As a child I never thought there were any black people in Mexico. When I was 10 years old I found a baseball card of Jorge Orta. I looked at him and thought he was Dominican(mainly because he is black). I looked on the back and found he was from Mexico. He isn't the only Afro-Mexican baseball player in MLB. There is Ruben Amaro Jr too.
