Many years ago I ate at a wonderful cuban restaurant in Little Havana, it was off the beaten path, today I have no recollection the name or where it is. Given that, would like to solicit some recommendations of good, authentic cuban food/restaurants. Nothing fancy, I like the hole-in-the-wall type as well. Just trying to plan in advance for our trip out east.

Why do you say that? Did you have a bad experience at one of them (there are a few now - one on Calle Ocho, another on Bird Road, and another somewhere else, I believe)?

i just think they don't represent the best cuban food in miami. i'm a foodie and a very good cuban cook. instead go to la carreta or palasio de los jugos.

OH, I get it. Cubans don't really have an original folkloric cuisine, since there is nothing to eat down there.

Let's not get off-topic here. I have been to La Carreta and I have enjoyed some of the food there. There are several locations all around town.
