Sounds more like Miami

I agree. I've found FLL to generally be a little faster than Miami. But truth be told, they are all about the same.

I used to hate Miami, but I've recently begun flying out of Miami more often. I am not biased either way anymore. They are both pretty easy to get in and out of, airport wise. FLL maybe a little easier, but it's trivial.

I fly into FLL because first of all I can fly Jet Blue and second its much more user friendly. Theres a lot less walking to get to the rent a car counters and its only a 30 to 40 minute ride to my destination after that.

+1 for JetBlue. It flies from FLL to JFK, LGA, and White Plains too.

A lot of people that I know that live south of MIA, fly out of FLL just to avoid the hassles of MIA and to fly JetBlue.

I used to be that guy when I lived in S.FL. Used Jetblue all the time to travel to NYC.

Is it worth it ?

I have no idea about transportation costs between the 2, looking for inputs.
We will be cruising from MIA and visiting key west etc . We will rent a car regardless of where we land, but we will have to return it in MIA before the cruise and will need transportation to FLL from MIA after the cruise.
No, it's not worth it. How much are go gonna pay to get to Ft Lauderdale airport? Remember you have to pay it twice.

A rocket might take 15 minutes, but a car will take 30 minutes without traffic and 1 hour with traffic.

If the actual savings is $200.00 after added cost of extra transit, then yes it is worth it. Unless you are flying Spirit.

You said you have to return the car to MIA? Are you picking up the car at FLL? If you can pick up and return the car at FLL its great. If you have to pick and return the car to MIA, then its a hassle, and also savings will be minimal given the cost of transporting people from to MIA and then from MIA to FLL.
