Anything west of University Drive in Broward. The central south and NW suburbs tend to be the safest, although nothing west of that road is high in crime except for small areas towards Miramar that border on Dade County. The safest community is Weston, Coral Springs consistently ranks one of the 25 safest in the country for all cities over 75 thousand, Pembroke Pines is the 50th safest city in the country, and Parkland and Cooper City are also particularly safe. Plantation, Sunrise and Miramar have a little more crime, mostly property crimes like burglaries, although as of late armed robbery has been creeping it's way up Oakland Park Blvd into convenience stores at night, although neighborhoods are not dangerous.

Once you head north of Commercial Blvd, you can take that boundary to the turnpike to include the working class but predominantly safe cities of Margate and North Lauderdale, and once you are north of Atlantic Blvd, you can take that boundary to State Road 7 to include middle class Coconut Creek and very upscale Parkland.

As for Miami-Dade, generally the coastal communities, ranging from Aventura to Coconut Grove and a bit further south, and most of Coral Gables just west of Coconut Grove.

In Miami proper, focus on downtown and Brickell (adjacent to each other).

Bring bucket loads of money, maybe wheel-barrels full!

If you want to focus on Ft. Lauderdale proper, do a thread search and you will find past threads and posts with specific information down to zip codes and street names.

Good luck!

I just realized that in N. Broward I was mistakingly thinking of SR7 being east of the turnpike when it's west. Coconut Creek is largely east of S.R.7 and that's still safe. So the Turnpike is the safe barrier all the way to the Palm Beach County line from Commercial, although when you get towards Deerfield Beach the safe line can be as far east as Military Trail/Andrews. Maybe even 44th street could be the beginning.

In Miami-Dade country the area by The Falls at SW 136 st is very safe. That is in the Palmetto school district which is in the Pinecrest area.
