here's one link, English is 2nd, Spanish is 4th.

http://www.krysstal.com/spoken.html

Here's another link, with English 2nd, Spanish 3rd.

http://www.photius.com/rankings/languages2.html

That doesn't matter though... There are only a few white collared positions where knowing Spanish might be essential. Like communicating with workers on a factory floor, or landscaping/agricultural, but that is neither high tech nor white collar work. Fast food restaurants might have a need for a gringo who speaks Spanish now and then... Execpt for Miami, where virtually all office/white collar jobs require one to to not only Speak Spanish, but be Hispanic, in order to maintain sanity.

Anita and others taught me Spanish, I learned it real quick down there! I already had a base of Spanish 1 through 4 from high school. If you could only hear my accent... 100% Cuban. In Mexico they are convinced that I am Cuban, or at least part. When I tell them that I am a gringo "solamente" they think I am lying to them.

LOL, then Im happy for you.. I was only pointing out the importance of speak more than one language, and in the case of the US, the spanish is in its momentum. Maybe tomorrow it's portuguesse, chinesse, or german again. But at the end of the road, the english language will always be the de facto language of the US.

You are right! I lived there for 5 years and I could not take it anymore. I hate Miami, I hate Univision, I hate "los fonomemecos" I hate the fact that a part of U.S.A territory is under control of a bunch corrupt CUBAN politicians who only work for CUBANS and then for a bunch of illegal inmigrants. F*CK MIAMI!

Well thankfully it will never be German due to the heroic efforts of our Allied forces in WWII!

WTF are you talking about? German immigrants in the 1800's and early 1900's were like the cubans and mexicans nowadays .
