Kind of like that last Great Depression where the government kept it going for many years.

This is the problem with schools. They teach that FDR saved the USA from the Great Depression by creating tons of government programs that did the trick. However the Depression hung on very long, it was a long slow recovery thanks to the big government types running things.

How many are looking forward to 10-12 years of serious financial hardship? Where many people end up sewing newspaper into their coat linings, or putting cardboard into their shoes, getting their kids used small shoes because there is nothing else? Or where Christmas after Christmas, the kids are happy to find an orange in their stockings but oranges were a sacrifice the parents made.

A very long depression is what we're in for if we let the government gain more control.

if you are in a population center of any kind, then yes, we are most definitely in a depression. I honestly hate going out sometimes just because of all the dilapidation and its dishearting to hear of another business closing, every single week... Saginaw/Flint/Detroit are very similar as far as outlook goes, however, i do read of all the start-ups in Detroit that are looking promising. ..Not so much for Saginaw.
