This thread is dedicated to the rebuilding efforts after the protests and civil unrest that occurred in the aftermath of George Floyd.

Here is a very promising article about planned development for the Wells Fargo located just south of Lake and Nicollet that burned down during the riots.

“Housing, new bank proposed at Wells Fargo site at Nicollet and Lake”

Wells Fargo will rebuild its arson-destroyed site at Lake Street and Nicollet Avenue with a 200-plus unit residential building, bank branch and commercial space, developed by Project for Pride in Living, the developer-manager of affordable housing.

The 2.5-acre project being announced Monday will be worth more than $50 million, or 10% of the estimated $500 million in destruction to properties in Minneapolis and St. Paul from vandalism and arson in the wake of protests to the death of George Floyd in police custody last summer.

Lots of really good stuff is happening right now in the city. It isn’t all doom and gloom like some people would want you to believe...

Interesting timing of this thread in view of another emerging violent episode in Minne following a fatal altercation between a cop and a defiant rule-breaker. Let's see if this 2.0 initiative could survive another looming wave of looting and vandalizing mob activities for your city......

Sounds like something you’d expect in mid-90s Johannesburg.

They looted Lake Street Target again, 2.0 Walgreens is the common looting place, what specific drugs are they attempting to get?

To the original article, of course Wells Fargo is going to put itself below housing. Occupied housing wasn’t really burned in riots 1.0 Other then my daughters best friends place above Foot Locker on Lake. They had to grab everything they could and flee before burning up, which their apartment did.

Hope the window-smashing, brick-throwing useful idiot cannon fodder masses enjoy their bruises and lung damage from all that tear gas and rubber bullets while generating more outrage video content to keep the cash flowing for all the "leaders" in their newly purchased mansions!

Come on Minneapolis! Seattle finally just calmed down and you have to trigger the protests again.

Don’t worry, you’ll have a chance to start the 3.0 thread now that 2.0 is getting looted back into Stone Age. Or 4.0, because 3.0 is going to get burned to the ground even if chauvin gets strung up on the nearest light pole before the verdict is announced.
