This is correct. Poor roads with more people are the major reasons why traffic is slow. 15 years ago it moved much faster.

a point for you

I always try to go at or below posted speed limit. However, proper hypermiling techniques tend to become a hassle on my morning commute downtown when I get on the Eastbound I-394 and most drivers around me go at least 65 mph, while a good portion speed up to 70-80 mph. It is my impression that the cops here in Minnesota seem to have their own secret agenda when it comes to speed enforcement on busy thoroughfares.

Kudos to you, sir/madam!

You see people, this is the mature and intelligent way to deal with drivers whom you feel are going too fast.

If you want to enforce traffic laws, then become a cop, otherwise, get out of the way and stop impeding traffic.

"Slow" and "fast" are all relative to your baseline, but they drive slow probably for the same reason they walk slow, which is one of my pet peeves about the Cities since moving here from the east coast.

If you don't care, don't read the thread. I don't drive, so I couldn't care less what happens on the freeways. If you move based on how people drive, you have larger issues you should probably deal with.

I agree there are some slow drivers out there but there are an equal number of faster, more aggressive drivers too. THAT is what I don't like about driving in the area: slow meets fast is a dangerous environment to drive in!
