But I’d hardly break out the champagne. I don’t know what this will actually, concretely fix.

Ahh, another virtue-signaling look-down-the-nose out-of-stater. Can never have enough of those!

But yeah, the flag was exactly what needed to be fixed. Mississippi is actually ahead of the game in race relations, since we had to confront it all long ago. Weird, right?

I have family in Mississippi with their own problems. Changing the flag makes approximately 0% difference to them. It’s a feel good moment I won’t stand in the way of, but it’s effectively meaningless.

In the court of public opinion and economic opportunities it matters/mattered. Whether you think that's relevant or not, is another matter.
