Have you seen average home prices in midtown lately? Definitely not lower-middle class prices.

Midtown covers a wide range of various demographics.

Yeah, that area of Midtown has some lacking demographics. Areas to the south (which the store is facing) have poverty stricken neighborhoods. Even points north aren't that great. If they wanted Midtown, then maybe Florida/Old Shell Road near Publix, Dauphin Street in Old Dauphin Way....or just the Airport Boulevard side of the Loop which has better access to the population with greater disposable income. Look at what surrounds it.....A Goodwill, a church, low income apartments, and old commercial buildings, and old homes being used as commercial space. The location doesn't have a safe feeling.

South of the Loop (Maysville/Birdville) are some "hard up" economic areas. Midtown is doing great...

It still pales in comparison to the "economics" of Spring Hill.

Not technically midtown, but Biryani Pot of Mobile opened on Saturday on Downtowner Blvd. Only take out at the moment, but the food is incredible. More flavor than *** the Katmandu Kitchen in my opinion!

Edit: not sure why it's censoring Y a k

The Mirkos Coming Soon sign has been down for months. Their local facebook page is gone, and there is no work being done on the property. I don’t think They are moving forward with that location.

I still think that the old Shrimp Basket location at Old Shell and Florida would be perfect for them.
