Drove by the site earlier today. Construction trailers were being installed and they have been clearing out the area with some heavy equipment. Guessing we should see some construction in the next month or so

Avelo is suspending its Orlando service as of March 2024... no return date set. Mobile got suspended along with Colorado Springs and some others. Will be interesting to see what Avelo does, if anything

Breeze Airlines will probably add service from BFM to Orlando (MCO).
Using made in Mobile Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
Welcome Aboard.

Yawn. If this wasn't profitable for Avelo what makes Breeze different? We really need to get some better destinations. Literally anywhere out west or further south in Florida (Miami/Key West/ FLL)would be nice. People can only go to Disney World so many times.

Avelo is basically closing their Orlando hub... hard to quantify and say with any certainty that Mobile is uniquely unprofitable for them considering the hub drawdown. The big distinction between the two is that Breeze flies smaller, more efficient planes than Avelo does, so profitability is easier. Not to mention their product is far better (Breeze sells first class, for instance).

If Orlando is profitable, Breeze will add more places. So "yawning" won't achieve anything.
