So looks like Stimpson was busy yesterday, presenting in front of the fresh new runway at Berkley, the new Walsh Park, and the brand new $60 million cold facility by MTC Logistics, the newest of many assets to the Port of Mobile.

Well looks like Ladd Stadium takes another hit, MCPSS announced no more football games Ladd

At this rate, Ladd is becoming the next convention center, a massive money hole for a few niche events, only existing because of its historic importance

If they’re not having any graduations there, no bowl game, no senior bowl, and no high school games then the stadium is in its last days. Naturally instead of looking at the shooter that tried to murder someone as the problem, the people in the school system have to create the stadium as the problem and this makes it look like they’re doing something.

The convention-related hotel room nights and associated spending at least covers our annual investment. It serves a purpose.

With Ladd, there are no more customers.

The Gulf Coast Challange is the only thing that will bring revenue to Ladd now. Unfortunately that's only once a year ,So I don't know what Ladd is going to do now. The Gulf Coast Challange alone isn't enough to keep it afloat now.

Well where Birmingham is getting some action in the USFL, Mobile is getting its own in the MLFB. Major League Football is a company founded in 2014 and plans to create a professional football league and Mobile (as well as Montgomery) are among the last candidates for its initial 6 teams.

Personally, I'm not holding my breath for this one, this would be great news for Ladd Stadium. However, these types of leagues rarely make it very far, I doubt this one will be the exception.

Looks like citizens of Fairhope are becoming unhappy about the growth, there's even talks a temporary moratorium for development in the city.

my first thought, is that if this happens, this might drive more growth in Mobile County as builders would likely take their business elsewhere

And ANOTHER blow for Ladd Peebles, Is this the last event that has left Ladd Peebles? I can't remember if there's anything left.
