I agree with you whole heartedly. American Citizens should not be able to exploit illegal labor. No one should be exploited. I am married to a foriegner who spent many years becoming a citizen. I do not hire illegals, for that very reason. It is not because I don't trust them, or think they don't deserve to work but I cannot justify a broken system by breaking it even further.
There are countries all over the world with poverty and oppression, we are not physical able to take them all, the US only as a finite amount of acreage. Our best hope, and the best hope for these other countries, is to help lift them out of their dispare or our system will break and we will become the system they have fled.

On the other hand have friends in San Antonio, both illegal, one kid in school, pay no property taxes, earn $90,000 a year, have been here for 5 years, no SS cards, and the part that really gets me is that they pay no yes thats right zero income taxes, yet use all the services that most of us pay for. Whose fault, the government, Texas, or mine for knowing and doing nothing? Dont have the answer but really upsets me.
If they rent and are not section 8 subsidized housing they are in fact paying the property taxes. Their landlord is passing those down to his tenants you can be sure. So I am not worried about their use of the public school in Texas. In other states where income tax is used to fund schools instead of property taxes is another story altogether.
I would also expect that if this family is earning 90K, they are likely getting a paycheck with taxes withheld. I am not sure what tax supported services they are taking advantage of, but I would guess they are not using anything they are not supporting with the taxes being withheld. Since they are not legal, it is unlikely that they will be using the social security taxes they are paying in so that is "lost" money from their perspective.
I would be much more concerned about those illegals who live on the street or with friends or family and work for under the table pay days. These are the folk that are using our tax supported services and not contributing any taxes toward them. Sure there is sales tax, but that is mostly for local and state services, not federally provided services.
sounds like they are self employed. there will be no way that a family is making 90k per year....and hasnt paid taxes in the last 5yrs. I'm sure the IRS would be knocking on their door real quick.
