My wife gave me an early Christmas present by taking me to see "A John Waters Christmas" last night at the Lyric Opera House. It was a good show, Waters was as funny and entertaining as always. He told some Christmas stories, like the time that the Christmas tree fell over on his grandmother, and also talked about some non-Christmas subjects.
One thing he mentioned is that there's no pubic hair anymore. "Seen any new porno? There's no bush. Seen a recent copy of 'Playboy'? Those girls look like they've got my mustache down there."
Last night's show was the last of this tour, but if you ever have a chance to see him live, he's well worth checking out.
Before and after the show, they were playing selections from "The John Waters Christmas Album", a collection of novelty Christmas tunes. The last one I heard as we were leaving, which is currently being an ear termite, is the one with the chorus that goes:
