Aloha, I was lucky to be born in the early 70s i was about 3 or 4 when Bruce Lee made it big. Further being born in Hawai'i there was a lot of ethnic movie houses. We even had Golden Harvest open a place in Honolulu. So every weekend i was blessed to go see a new Kung fu or Japanese Action Movie. Then later the airing of Kung Fu theater.

So being raised in the Shaw Brothers , Golden Harvest, Bruce lee era. my opinion maybe biased. But feel free to share your top 5 favs.

Mine Are:

1.Bruce Lee- Enter the Dragon
2.Bruce Lee- Fist of Fury
3.Bruce Lee- Big Boss( ok its safe to say Bruce lee movies are my fav so i will leave it at that)
4)Jet li - Once upon a time in china serious.
5)Tomisaburo Wakayama- Shogun Assassin(lone wolf and cub)

I also have a lot of favs from many other Martial Arts actors and from different countries like Korea, China, Hong Kong etc. So if i did not mention them no insult intended. Please share what your movies are? Aloha

Enter the Dragon
Kill or be killed (1977)
Kill and Kill again (1981)
Force 5 (1981)
The Jade Claw (?) It was filmed in China probably about 1960. I taped it on Beta (that's how long ago) and no longer have it. I can't find any reference to it on IMDB. There are others with the same name, but not the original.

I watched many old school martial arts/kung fu movies as a kid on TV and my VCR but I don't remember most of the titles anymore. Looking back, I enjoy the 1990s to now much more than the movies from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

This is about as old school martial movies that I enjoy. Anything beyond this time era, it's too old for me.

Operation Condor 1 &2
Twin Dragons
Jet Li's Bodyguard from Beijing
Bride with white hair
Bichunmoo

Agree with bolded.
Adding one of my favorite from my early teens: "Five Fingers of Death" This before I realized it was mostly smoke and mirrors I fell completely out of love with these movies when the fighting scenes started becoming more akin to something you might see on the syfy channel. But up till then, I was at the theater to see many of these movies.
