Just watched “The Vanishing” on Amazon Prime. A psychological thriller made in 2018 starring Gerard Butler. I enjoyed the film and would rate it a 7.5.
I watched it several times, there is an event in 1899 where all three disappeared, but where did the author find such a theme,is it based on some real event?
some of the fight scenes are quite brutal, and the way they killed the captain as if he is a crab !
TUBI has some damn good movies,it seems to get better and better, but then we have to put up with those awful commercials.
I found the TV version of Captain Alatriste on TUBI without English subtitle.
And I like to watch Custer of the West, the scene where he made everyone marches around the fort up and down the stairs until one soldier remains !
Before he ordered the march,he summoned the cook and asked what's for breakfast and if anyone sick or healthy has skipped breakfast.
Breakfast is liver and onion, steak, flatjack, pie and coffee and more !
and the doctor agreed,a little excercise would be good for these soldiers !

Yes, it is based on a real event; it says so in the beginning of the movie. I don’t know how to post links but, you can find some info about this story by going on Wikipedia- just enter The Vanishing (2018 film). Also, in the first paragraph, it states, “mysterious disappearance of three lighthouse keepers in 1900”. Click on that and it takes you to Flannan Isles Lighthouse which gives you a historical account of what people think may have happened.
Someone on CD had posted about The Zookeeper's Wife (2017) a long time ago, so I put it in our Netflix queue, We finally watched it (our queue is very long, lol). Anyway, I wish I had watched it sooner. It has some pretty powerful, intense scenes. I cried, during both the sad ones and the happy ones. It was a little overkill or silly in some of them, but overall I loved the movie. 5/5 stars.
Ugh. We were just looking for something fun to watch. The characters go to Florida, and I always like a tropical location. But we just couldn't continue with this. Tried watching a couple of increments at a time, then we were just skipping ahead to try to find something, anything resembling comedy. Gave up. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
