Last night we watched Its Complicated with Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep and Steve Martin. We thought it was enjoyable and had some funny moments-----a script really has to be terrible with a solid cast like that for the movie to be poor.
I'm Still Here. It wasn't actually a movie, it was a documentary filmed by Casey Affleck about Joaquin Phoenix retiring and becoming a hip hop artist. It was stupid IMO. I had alot of respect for Joaquin as a good actor but after watching this doc. all respect for him is gone. At the end all I thought was what a waste of talent.
Last two: Iron Lady...Meryl Streep... "You're not getting older, Meryl, you're just getting better!" Very good movie, and yes, it was difficult to see a great person in the throes of dementia. Dementia is a devastating illness and one that affects, and will affect, many of us.
Exceedingly Loud and Incredibly Close...a beautiful movie that deals with grief and loss in a most wonderful way. BTW, it has nothing to do with 9/11 except as a backdrop for the plot. Warning: Not for bam, bam shoot 'em up people who prefer blood and guts. A thinking man's movie. It's so good to see actors and actresses who continue to grow: Sandra Bullock. Very good acting from all. Max Von Sydow (spelling) was great, so was the boy.
"Great Balls Of Fire" with Dennis Quaid as Jerry Lee Lewis.
