I enjoyed this movie a great deal and yet found it emotionally painful to watch at times but uplifting overall.

Young originally wrote The Shack as a Christmas gift for his six children with no apparent intention of publishing it. After letting several friends read the book he was urged to publish it for the general public.

The title of the book is a metaphor for "the house you build out of your own pain", as Young explained in a telephone interview. He also told radio host talk show Drew Marshall that The Shack "is a metaphor for the places you get stuck, you get hurt, you get damaged...the thing where shame or hurt is centered."

Louder than Bombs with Gabriel Byrne, Jessie Eisenberg & Isabelle Huppert. It was a massive failure in 2015, making only $162K total with an $11M budget! Wow. Panned horribly by all critics & apparently, every person who saw it.

True to form, I liked it... it was a different, poignant story & well acted.

A Hard Day's Night. Hadn't seen it since the 70s. What a wonderful film it is, although I do feel that the concert section at the end was a little too long and, in retrospect, included a couple of weak songs.

Gaslight 1944

I quite enjoy this movie. I usually try and watch it twice a year.

Tried to sit through Mother. Made it 43-min... 20-min past the time I wanted to bail.

Plot is stupid & pointless. Michelle Pfeiffer plays a "White Oleander" mean, this time for no reason. Ed Harris is confused. Javier Bardem is miscast & there's something super cringy about him paired with Jennifer Lawrence, one of my least fave actresses of all time. And, if I have to look at Jen's giant forehead & basketball round face once again, I'm going to punch through the screen.

I've had a horrible week. I was looking to escape from it for a moment or 2. This just made me furious. Drivel of a film. I don't know how it ends & oh, my god I don't care.
