Tripe is bad. I loathed that film. My Dad and I get into spitting matches everytime we talk about it too. He loved it, I loathed it and never the twain shall meet.

Default The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1965)

The dirty gritty business of spys in Cold War Berlin. Richard Burton when he is good, is very, very good and in this film he is good indeed. He is a British agent who is on a dangerous and probably his last mission. And he comes to understand the true nature of the role of the small players in a much larger indifferent war. Filmed is crisp black and white which suits the darkness and shadows of John le Carre's story. Good, good stuff!

Default McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971)

Two people experience succesive waves of change over a primitive Pacific Northwest town quiet differently.

"Deadwood" is a pale imitation of what is realized in this film.

Perhaps you remember when Julie Christie first fascinated you and you fell in love with her...
