BILLY ELLIOT, I had to bribe the family with Pizza to watch this, but everyone enjoyed it, an uplifting story of dreams fulfilled and following your bliss.

If you like this type of movie, I recommend ON A CLEAR DAY. Great movie. (Set in England. The main character is in his late 50s, early 60s and is laid off from work...made "redundant." He mopes around for a while and hangs out with his mates at the local swim club, where they all swim laps for exercise. The guy gets this idea to swim the English channel. His mates help him train. Meanwhile, he's having father/son problems with his grown son. He makes his swim and it's just very, very heartwarming. I love the ending. Great movie.)

Recently rented THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, which I liked (because I like sci-fi and end-of-the-world movies), but I think I wanted more of something at the end.

Also rented MARLEY & ME. It's a good thing I didn't go to see this in the theatre, because I'm sure my uncontrollable sobbing at the end would have disturbed the other movie-goers.

The last two that came from Netflix were The Fountain (didn't like) and The Prestige (haven't watched yet).

From NetFlix - Napoleon Dynamite. How did I miss this the first time around? I laughed so hard.
I hated high school and I have a brother who can't seem to leave the 80s behind, so I related a lot to this movie.

uh-yea, I'm serious. I don't recall nitpicking your choices.
To each their own.
