It goes back to the mid-60's as a matter of fact, as his earliest recordings were on Decca and Mercury. And in England, on the Pye label as well.

Ok, what is your favorite David Bowie song? Album? Ever see him in concert?
Oh yeah! You know which one I am going to post. "Lets Dance". Why am I posting that one? It was SRV's debut into the spotlight! He was the very cool guitar player in the background you know? This is what made him famous! Rugged

He shoots! He scores! Nothing but net!!

Yep, 2RUGGED hits a 3 pointer. He played at the Montreaux Festival in the early '80's, maybe a few months before he released his first lp on Columbia. David Bowie was in the crowd that night, later met him. They got to be friends, and indeed Stevie Ray plays guitar on that Bowie track.

There's an album of his that you dont hear much about, but it's my favorite of all his albums. The opening track is "Laughing Gnome", and there's a few other 'out there' songs on it.
According to W/pedia, the track is from his first album titled 'David Bowie'..but this is not the album I had with that track. The album I had also had a song called "Liza-Jane" which isn't on what looks to be a re-issued album. Anyway, that period is my favorite.
