No. I'm talking about the little neighborhood north of Wedgewood south of Houston, east of 65, west of 4th Ave.

Okay im stupid...i meant East of i65.

What has happened there? From what I can tell there are some remodeled housing projects, trailer homes, and some single family homes. I am looking at street view but I did drive through once and it looked like the hood to me. A little better than the Trimble and a little worse than the Edgehill.

Mostly small, mid century single family homes. Generally well kept. Definitely not worse than Edgehill.

South Nashville Action People

It's one of the many lesser known neighborhoods that has started to gain some heat as the popular hoods start to get expensive. Looks can be deceiving, especially with some google views being a few years old. It's no 12th South or Sylvan Park, but is probably roughly comparable to some East Nashville areas, such as those between Gallatin Pk and Ellington Pkwy.

Now that these stadium plans are firming up, where are we on the one-time rumors of getting an MLB franchise? Has anyone heard if the proposed stadium could be upgraded/retrofitted to MLB standards?

It sounds like we'll get a better idea on the plans later today, but from what I've read, it sounds like there will be a lot of residential development in the immediate vicinity that would make that a difficult transition.

Now, if a team wanted to relocate to Nashville, I'm sure they'd have little problem just building another stadium somewhere (likely next to LP field or as a new mixed-use stadium for both the Titans/MLB team if it's far enough down the line). As a resident/owner in the Germantown area who is excited about the current Sulphur Dell proposal, I would have major reservations about a stadium reformatting for an MLB team being put there.

But I've always thought the idea of an MLB team in Nashville, while it would make sense from a geographic standpoint, was never realistic nor would it be successful at this point in time. Perhaps 10 years or so down the road it would be a better fit.

No word (that I've seen) for retrofitting being in the plans for the new stadium.

While I'd love to have an MLB team here, I don't think it'll happen anytime soon. Probably never. We're too small of a market to support 81 home games of a franchise with no historic ties to the area. I think potential owners would look at the sometimes problematic support for the Predators during their long season and have some major concerns about the viability of having good crowds for 81 home baseball games. Also, we're sandwiched inbetween St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Atlanta already.

There just seem to be a lot of obstacles for MLB expanding to Nashville. Again, I'd very likely buy season tickets to an MLB franchise and be first in line the day they opened the gates...but I just don't see it happening unfortunately.

Better chance of an MLS team than MLB.

I actually think that from a geography standpoint, it works out very well for the next MLB franchise to be in either Nashville or Charlotte. Really the only other 2 metro areas that aren't already saturated are Portland and Vegas.

There are several other reasons why I don't think it would work though.
