Nice photos. Flowers are beautiful everywhere but they seem to be extra colorful and joyful once they "spring" in after a deep sleep from extremely cold winters.
Everything really has adapted to those long, cold winters, hasn't it? As one of our Alaskan posters has said, they have early winter, midwinter, late winter and summer (sort of). I once visited Alaska in July and it was cool enough - highs in the 40s - to wear a jacket if you were gonna be outside much.

That's what I thought. I have seen a neighborhood cat with a mouse before so they are out there. Happily, there are no mice in the house!
What is fun... if you have snow and in the country. Find a back road and a field covered in snow. Get out the binoculars.. turn off the car.. roll the window down and listen and watch.. Look for foxes or bobcats or hawks circling over head.. watch where they are watching... scan the snow for traces of life and just watch. The edge of fields that meet up with hedge rows or woods..are the best places too watch....bring a camera..
