I have now given up on my oriole feeder. Never saw another oriole after that 3 or so times I saw one back in April.
In fact, summer birds seem a bit scarce this year in general. I've only seen hummers a few times, and also haven't seen a single bluebird. Last year I got tons of both. Bluebirds even were going to my feeders, which I thought was unusual since I didn't know bluebirds ate seed! I'm wondering if the cold April we had this year had some effect? It sure killed a lot of branches on trees and shrubs around here.
We are still getting migrants here, heading north....
I've mentioned before how we have a camping lot, out in the country. (Located not too far from Meramec State Park, in Missouri.)
I like to keep track (so far, just in my head) of the different wildlife that I see. I almost always see SOMETHING of interest. This past Saturday was cool. I saw a bald eagle!
Our lot is on a lake, and I saw the eagle fly back and forth across the lake 3 times, and then it decided to perch in a tree for 15 or 20 minutes before flying off.

Are they threatened or endangered??? Thinking I saw that somewhere....
