***ALERT ALERT! The mystery aerial town has been found. Believe it or not its Dumas, TX. There is no dought in my mind. After using google earth and failing to find results while comparing satellite images of towns in Nebraska & Colorado to the picture, I finally needed to search in a whole different region. I never expected it to be in the panhandle of Texas. Sorry it was on this thread! Thanks everybody for the interest and help. Some notable locations in the aerial image are Dumas Municipal Airport to the west & Highway 87 that leaves Dumas and heads south. The wind turbines must have been installed recently because the satellite image is from 2005 and there a just the paths where the wind turbines are over. Other than thats its pretty accurate.
Panoramio - Photo of Dumas, TX sat. image- looking south <---The link to the satellite. It's also now the first image on the Janemike15 account. THANKS!

Midwestern45,
I am glad you finally figured it out. It was fun, thanks. That kept me on the GOOGLE satellite/maps for quite a while.
I think I spend more time on Google.maps than I do playing FreeCell.

Good work in catching Dumas. I looked at Dalhart Tx and several towns in NM but didn’t even give it a thought about Dumas.

When travelling by car or plane I take along my Lowrance handheld GPS and if I see something that interests me, I save it as a stop point and can then go back later and get the coordinates and then use them on Google Earth of Streets & Trips and locate the point. Also, the handheld on the plane will also give you the exact speed of the plane by just holding it up to the window so it will connect with the needed satellites. Works pretty cool.
