Hey guys!

We are going to Byfield Mass for a lax tournament this summer. We are a family of five (15, 11 and 8). I was looking up places to stay and wasn't finding too much in the byfield area in Mass. We have never been to New Hampshire...heard it was gorgeous. I was looking up areas and the map says Portsmouth is about 30 minutes (down 95) to Byfield.

Do you think this is accurate? Is Portsmouth an option for me? Is it a family area? We are looking to see sites, look at shops and be able to get some great food when my daughter isn't playing lacrosse. We are big water lovers.

Any suggestions on a nice clean family friendly hotel?

TIA!!!

Thanks buck.. I'm just not seeing a lot that aren't b &bs. Maybe I am missing it somehow. Also quite a few are booked already. Is Portsmouth a touristy area?

very much so..it's a good sized city.

There's a "bazillion" hotel/motels in Salsbury, and a Hampton Inn in Seabrook...a lot closer to Byfield than Portsmouth.

Very much so. Actual population of town is 20,000... But seeing the crowds in the summer you'd think it were a larger city. Its also a good base to explore southern Maine.

Several choices for hotels in town..
