When does the first snowfall typically occur in New Jersey? More specifically, the central part of the state (Middlesex/Monmouth County)?

Usually around November 20th or so. I hope we get a 3-4 foot blizzard this year. They are always a lot of fun.

Just really depends how things work out, some years we get no snow all year, maybe just a dusting. Some years its pretty bad we used to get snow in December a lot but since temps rose up a little we don't get it as much in December. Thats pretty crazy to think that Nj don't get that much snow in December the month synonymous with snow!

Right around Thanksgiving for the most part- I remember 2 winters ago when it started flurrying right before Halloween (it didn't even last for 5 minutes, not did it stick)

December sounds about right. Areas closer to the shoreline have much less snow than more inland. There is heavier snowfall as you travel north in the state.
I always love the snowfall at the holidays!

Flurries and snow showers can occur in November, but significant snowfall that you have to shovel doesn't usually occur until mid to late December. But it all depends on the storm tracks. Last year south Jersey got more snow than north Jersey which is pretty unusual.

The first snowfall will occur the day after you leave the Home Depot after thinking" they must be crazy if they think I'm gonna pay that much to move a little snow off the driveway"

Remember how they run out of sump pumps after a flood.

Go buy the biggest snow blower you can afford and as soon as you get a 1/2 inch of snow you will be out before dawn showing off your new toy to the neighbors.

Here are some tips on snow blowers.
Your 5 year old will think it is the coolest toy in the garage.
Your 16 year old will not even acknowledge you have one.

Good luck with the snow this winter in Jersey, I'll be watching.

I think last year around Oct.20 they had a crazy storm out in Northwest Jersey that dumped about 10 inches of snow. They still had leaves on the trees.
