Bank with a credit union, NO FEES!!!! I even get interest on money in my checking account. I can do everything online, but still get a paper statement. I can deposit checks with my phone/camera, pay no ATM fees charged by CU for using someone else ATM. I have an app which uses the locator on my phone to find ATM's where I don't pay a fee using them. All the benefits of banking without the fees. You just have to look into what Credit Union you join. I have two in my area and the fees are different, the one I can use my ATM card at and pay no fee, if I belonged to the other one and used their ATM card at my present credit union I'd pay a fee, plus they would charge a fee for more than 5 "pin" based transactions.

FYI, I started this thread about 5 years ago. I'm not sure why someone would resurrect such an old topic.
