Oh man, now we're starting to sound like Manhattan jerks! Haha. Well I'll take your word on Staten Island..I don't remember going there ever, probably because it's not very nice and the ferry ride is a bit out of the way. As for people from Staten Island, I've never met anyone from there that I know of. As you guys said, I guess they all moved to Central NJ, because I never met one up here in North NJ. If SI people get ridiculed all the time, I guess their attitude towards Manhattan people isn't very warm.
Fresh Kills on Staten Island is the largest landfill in the world. You can see it from space. That should speak enough for itself. The place is a dump, and with all that contamination and pollution, it will never turn around. That is why all its unsavory characters have moved to places like Marlboro and brought all their trash there with them.
Never noticed it.
I get more ridicule from people in southern states than people in Ny.
(On Cd and real life)
That's primarily because in North Jersey, our culture and even our accent are the same as NYC. The South is very different. NYC people just tease us as if we were their little brother, with the South it's probably genuine disdain.
The Freshkills landfill is currently being turned into a park. I don't know where they are putting all of that garbarge - probably trying to dump it in NJ. The smell around the old landfill was horrendous.

That's right, they are trying to make a park. It would not surprise me if they tried dumping it here, New York assumes we're their b*tch, lol.

I don't think they will actually remove the trash. I'm assuming it'll all still be there under a thick layer of soil.
