Please do . Fact is in the 50's ,60's and 70's Short Hills was almost 45% Catholic as opposed as of today.
Moderator cut: link removed, competitor site. I can guarantee there were Clubs in Short Hills in the 50's ,60's and 70's and there were Catholics and Jewish in them.
Look, I don't know who is right or wrong in your little argument about those private Short Hills clubs, but you have to stop with the country club argument. And I have been staying out of it, until you went and brought up the country clubs again. It is common freaking knowledge with everyone except you, that country clubs did not accept Jews. That is why there are so many Jewish country clubs now, because they had to create their own, because they weren’t allowed in the Christian country clubs. Everybody knows this! It is like you are arguing that the sky is not blue.
Being a lifelong golfer, and a Jew (also lifelong), and being from the area, I can tell you which clubs are Jewish and which ones are not, and which ones have a decent mix. Most of the ones that are not, excluded Jews in their beginnings. Some had worse reputations than others. Some allowed some Jews, but only if they acted WASPy enough. And they had a cap because they were afraid that without a cap on the amount of Jews, “the Jews” would change the culture of the club. others didn't allow any Jews at all. The clubs in this area with the worst reputation for this were Canoe Brook, Montclair Golf Club, and Baltursol.
In fact, Richard Nixon resigned from Baltusrol because after he was nominated, it got out that he belonged to a country club that restricted Jews and Blacks.
I dont think you mean it to be, but it is a little bit insulting to Jews, that you would deny this part of history.
It even says this in the article you posted. I copied and pasted this from your article....
“The Jewish country club phenomenon emerged at the beginning of the 20th century, as Jews became more prosperous but weren’t welcome at the old guard country clubs.”

You can't keep your lies straight. You need to go back and read when you first made up yourr phoney statements.
You still haven't answered yet on what any of this has to do with Millburn Public schools in 2019???
Just throwing your bias undocumented opinion out there to push your own agenda.
It affects the culture of the Millburn public schools, because there are kids in the school (many of whom are members of Christ Church as well, by the way - the Episcopal church in town) who spend their summers and vacations with their families at the restricted country clubs (like Short Hills Club, for example) where Jews and people of color are not welcome.

First your numbers are way off! Many are member of Christ Church,.....funny, how many member do you think Christ Church has? Short Hills is NOT a RESTRICTED CLUB and you have given no proof of it other that your bias opinion. Again you lie and throw your opinion out as fact when it is not.

I never mention "Baltursol" ...which happens to be in Springfield NJ ,and of that club your correct . But as for Canoe Brook in the 60's and 70's I can tell as fact that Jews were members in that Club .......how they acted that sounds like a personal agenda and I admit I can't comment on it . The fact remains that the other Gentle man said the clubs excluded Catholics and Jews(#16) and I will reiterate it's a bold face lie.
