Curious to know what you're paying for auto insurance in NJ... I'm using Alllstate and I recently read they applied with the state of NJ to hike rates 15%. I keep seeing commercials for Progressive so I'm thinking about looking into them... Anyway, lets compare the following:

Type/year of car:
Type of coverage (liability/collision/comprehensive):
Deductible:
Discounts (multi-car, homeowners, renters,etc):
Points on your license:
Cost per year:

Type/year of car: 98 Corolla
Type of coverage (liability/collision/comprehensive): first 2
Deductible: $500
Discounts (multi-car, homeowners, renters,etc): multicar/homeowners
Points on your license: 0
Cost per year: ~400

Type/year of car: 06 CRV
Type of coverage (liability/collision/comprehensive): ALL
Deductible: $500
Cost per year: ~800

Type/year of car: 08 Altima
Type of coverage (liability/collision/comprehensive): all

Cost per year: ~800

this does NOT include the dividend we get back every year. it turns out to be about $1800/yr for all 3 cars.

Minimal coverage I pay $1100 per year for 92 accord just for basic. Boy am I getting screwed. Paying more than my pos **** car is worth each year. No accidents and one minor speeding ticket 5 years ago.

I guess it also depends on how long you've been driving. I've only had my license for 3 years as of Aprill 4th,

06 Altima
0 points
500 deductible
liability, comprehensive, collision

1445 annually

I pay semi annually. My next billing in September, will be reduced by almost 225 since I've been driving for 3 years.. this will bring my annuual to somewhere around 1000.

About the same here...
was paying just over $800/yr for the 08 Buick - full coverage including "no fault"..$500 deductible. I'm assuming the new cars - my recession buster vehicles will be alot less .

I heard the same with Allstate (my company), but I switch auto insurance every year or so before they jack up the rates.

I pay GEICO about $1400/yr for a 2007 Camry and a 2008 Pathfinder.
My coverage for both cars are:
Bodily Injury Liability $300,000/$300,000
Property Damage Liability $100,000
Personal Injury Protection Primary $250 Ded./$250,000
Uninsured Motorist & Underinsured Motorist $300,000/$300,000
Uninsured Motorist & Underinsured Motorist PD $100,000
Comprehensive & Collision $250 Ded.
I feel this is a pretty good deal.
