FRMLY BKLYN -

I think it is safe to say that some of those people who go to Rutgers, Princeton and The State College of NJ are from Irvington, East Orange and Camden. You can not really be comparing recruiting in towns to recruiting at colleges are they are 2 completely different things.

i understand the theory behind this, but people need to see reality. you have to be able to afford to live in a town, and some of the jobs we're talking about here just simply don't pay enough to be able to live in certain towns.

Hahahahahaha I used to think that too. Until I found out the payoff is much better than the votes. Besides they get enough votes from the PBA members who reside in the area.

What urks me is how it's ok for them to live outside their County but not other County empolyee's. The clerks have to hide where they live. I don't know about the clerks in the State public jobs but I know the County public employee's have to hide it. That and the excessive promotions which is why their salaries are ridiculously high.

It helps the County Correctional Officers negotiate their contracts. They are considered law enforcement.
I never said anything about State Correctional Officers.

Costing them thousands? Oh it's ok to cost the taxpayers thousands over the years with
over paid salaries, excessive promotions to those who shouldn't even be considered before the employee residing in the County
whose salary is piad and fixed overtime pay by taking turns calling in sick, but don't dare make the public employee do what should
have been done in the first place. As much as they should be forced to move most are aleady grandfathered in. I already agreed it
should be changed for future employees.

Excuse me? I never said they should be paid enough to live in a million dollar home?!? If they don't like the salary or the rules to reside within the County/Municipality they are paid then don't take the job. Go work for private industry.

Yes I do agree with you about that but I am not about to sit still and have my taxes skyrocket any further so certain employees can be over paid when I see other employees, like the little clerk who always gets picked for a layoff and doesn't make enough money to move out of the area.

Doesn't anyone ever notice most of the public employees who live outside are the employee's who make more money. Geez a large majority of them are in upper and middle Management (white collar) or Sheriff's Officers/Correctional Officers.
