I know people who live in Las Cruces who go there regularly for eye and dental care and to shop and dine at the Pink Store and have had no problems.

What are you going for, if you don't mind my asking?

I've been there a number of times myself, just haven't been since 2015. I've never had any trouble either, but I'm sure I could find some if I went looking.

Just to go to that part of NM because I've never done anything there other than just driving through on my way to AZ. See Deming, Columbus, etc. Just for a day trip. I'll have lunch and a Corona at that pink store. I've also heard that the dental is way cheap and while it's not a reason to go, I'll at least investigate it. I also have a recent eyeglass prescription and got major sticker shock (even with insurance) at the eyeglass place in ABQ and so I might check that out too. Sounds like a good day trip. Basically a NM bucket list thing.

Make sure to check out the Luna Mimbres Museum in Deming, and reserve a couple hours for it.

I havent gotten eyeglasses in Mexico yet but I plan on testing it out this month. I got quotes but am not sure if I'm allowed to post the specifics. The quote for single vision polarized lenses (lenses only) was only a few bucks less than Walmart, but the quote for polarized progressive bifocals was considerably less. About 37% savings

There is an eyeglass shop Opti-Dior right in back of the Pink Store

FWIW today I got different quotes on lenses from the same place only in person this time, this time the single visions were 30% less than Walmart and the bifocals were also 30% less. So one went up and one went down in the 2 days since I called, lol. I was also in and out of Palomas and it was about how I remember it. Lots of people were eating at the Pink Store, there were a couple beggars and hawkers and everyone was super nice.
